How to Become an Alibaba Cloud Certified Instructor

In this blog post, I will explain in detail the process on how to become an Alibaba Cloud Certified Instructor, also known as Alibaba Cloud Trainer (ACT).

Pre-requisites

ACP certification

In order to be eligible to become an Alibaba Cloud Certified Instructor, it is required to first pass at least one ACP certification.

Training Partners

Only Alibaba Cloud Training Partners or potential Training Partners can start the Train The Trainer (TTT) process of becoming an Alibaba Cloud Certified Trainer. Additionally, only legal entities can become Training Partners, and signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required. TTT Process

The process of becoming Alibaba Cloud Certified Trainer is called TTT process and it is divided into 4 different steps.

Alibaba Cloud TTT process

Step 1: Application

The first step is the application.

You have to download the TTT application form, fill it and send it to [email protected].
Your application will be reviewed by Alibaba Cloud .

Step 2: Interview

Once the application is approved, the next step is an interview. Alibaba Cloud will provide you the material to prepare a 30 min. demo session. This session will be like a tech talk deep-diving into an Alibaba Cloud product, such as OSS, ECS, VPC, CDN, RDS, etc. Afterward, it will be reviewed by an Alibaba Cloud representative.

For example, if you decide to go for ECS, you will need to have a deep understanding of ECS storage, ECS networking, ECS security, etc.

Step 3: 1st Demo Training

If you pass the interview, the next step will be the first demo training. Same procedure as before, you will get the materials from Alibaba Cloud and you will have to prepare for a ~2 hours session.

Unlike in the interview, in this step you will be required to talk about more than just one Alibaba Cloud product, usually 2 o 3, depending on your training skills. It is key to know how the products are integrated with each other and you have to be able to explain that in detail. For example, how ECS, SLB and Auto Scaling can provide a highly available, scalable and fault-tolerant application.

Step 4: 2nd Demo Training

The last step and final round is the second demo training, which consists in a full demo training.

You will have to deliver a full training session with trainees covering all Alibaba Cloud core products. At the end of the session, you will be evaluated using a survey.

The final decision will be taken based on the survey and the final review.
